The CRCNS 2026 Annual PI Meeting will be held at Virginia Tech’s Academic Building One, located on the Virginia Tech Innovation Campus in Alexandria, Virginia.

There are several hotel options are available near Virginia Tech Academic Building One and throughout the surrounding National Landing, Crystal City, and Old Town Alexandria areas. Attendees are encouraged to select lodging based on their preferred balance of walkability, Metro access, airport proximity, and nearby dining or evening options.

Flight & Airport Information

Attendees traveling by air should consider Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) as the closest and most convenient airport for Virginia Tech Academic Building One. Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) may also be a good option depending on flight availability, cost, and traveler preference, but attendees should allow additional travel time to Alexandria.

  • Closest and most convenient airport
    DCA is located just south of the Innovation Campus area and is typically the best airport option for attendees staying near National Landing, Crystal City, or Old Town Alexandria. Academic Building One is approximately 10 minutes from DCA by car, depending on traffic.

  • Additional domestic and international flight option
    IAD may offer more flight options for some travelers, especially those traveling internationally or from cities without convenient service into DCA. Travel time to Alexandria is longer, so attendees should plan accordingly.

Travel Notes

Please review the arrival options below before traveling to Academic Building One. Parking is available on the surface lots. Attendees arriving by Metro should use the Potomac Yard-VT station and follow the pedestrian route toward Academic Building One. Uber, Lyft, and taxi drop-off should be directed to the building address or the nearest accessible entrance area along Potomac Avenue or Reed Avenue.

    Parking Rates
    The hourly parking rate is $4, plus an additional service fee of $0.30.
    For parking longer than 4 hours, a daily fee of $20.30 applies and covers parking until midnight.

    Important Parking Note
    Overnight parking is not allowed. Avoid parking in the Potomac Yard shopping center due to strict towing policies.

  • Academic Building One is accessible from the Potomac Yard-VT Metro Station, served by the Yellow and Blue lines.

    When exiting the station, go up the escalators to the pedestrian bridge, cross over the tracks, and turn right toward the North Pavilion pedestrian entrance. Follow the walkway along University Drive to Academic Building One.

    Rideshare and taxi drop-off is recommended near the building entrance along Potomac Avenue or Reed Avenue, depending on traffic and driver access at the time of arrival.
